Multi Use List (MUL)
OATSIH Multi Use List of Experts
Members of the 'Multi Use List (MUL) of experts' are available to provide professional services to OATSIH and OATSIH funded health services across a broad range of categories.
The OATSIH Multi Use List (MUL) came into effect on 1 January 2011 and replaces the Indigenous Advisory and Development Panel. The MUL provides a more flexible array of professional services that can be accessed by all of the Department of Health and Ageing (DoHA), Office for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health (OATSIH) and by OATSIH funded health services, national councils and committees.
A review of the OATSIH Multi-Use List was conducted in February 2012. The review explored the experiences and usage of the MUL in its first year of establishment by administering surveys to key stakeholder groups. The review has been finalised, and the survey results showed that there was a distinct lack of use of the MUL among all stakeholders.
Based on the outcomes of the review, continuing with the MUL was not considered to be cost-effective given its lack of use in its first year and the administrative effort, staffing and financial implications involved in maintaining the MUL.
The MUL will continue in its current form until its expiration on 30 June 2012 and OATSIH funded organisations and OATSIH staff may continue to use the MUL until this time. From 1 July 2012, the MUL will be discontinued and will be removed from the OATSIH website.
