Pregnancy Counselling
Non-Directive Pregnancy Counselling
The Non-Directive Pregnancy Support Counselling MBS Items and the Pregnancy, Birth & Baby Helpline support women, their partners and families in making informed decisions about pregnancy-related issues.
- The Pregnancy, Birth & Baby Helpline
The
Pregnancy, Birth & Baby Helpline (Helpline) is an Australia-wide, 24 hour, seven days a week helpline that provides access to information and support for women, their partners and families on pregnancy and the first 12 months of a baby’s life. Where appropriate, the Helpline directs callers to maternity-related services including specialist and support services. The Helpline offers counselling on general antenatal and postnatal issues, non-directive counselling on pregnancy options and will put you in touch with local specialist and support services if further assistance is required.
- Non-Directive Pregnancy Support Counselling MBS Items
These items provide Medicare benefits for the provision of non-directive pregnancy support counselling by eligible GPs, and psychologists, social workers and mental health nurses on referral from a GP.
