Review of Funding of Pathology

Discussion Papers for the Review of Funding of Pathology

This final Discussion Paper has been prepared by the Department of Health and Ageing as a basis for public consultation with pathology stakeholders. These consultations will inform the development of advice to the Minister for Health and Ageing, the Hon Nicola Roxon MP, regarding proposals for future funding of pathology services. This paper has been developed to guide consultation and discussion by providing an overview of some of the issues identified in respect of the current funding arrangements and to help identify possible alternative proposals for consideration. These proposals have not been endorsed by the Department of Health and Ageing, the Minister, or the Australian Government.
