International Surveillance Reports
The Office of Health Protection aims to increases awareness of infectious disease outside of Australia through the fortnightly International Surveillance Report. The report provides summary information and basic analysis of major outbreaks and trends, emphasising those that are of public health significance or may have implications for Australia.
The report informs strategies to prevent the introduction, transmission and spread of emerging infectious disease threats in Australia. This includes highlighting infectious disease threats to Australian travellers overseas by informing travel health advice and warnings found at the Department of Health and Ageing Quarantine and travel health page and Smartraveller.
